Impact-resistant, shatterproof shields
All our replacement shields are made from polycarbonate – the same type of thermoplastic used in most original shields on modern forestry machines. Polycarbonate is impact-resistant, shatterproof and offers clear visibility with some protection against UV radiation, making it the natural material choice for a forestry machine shield.

Monolithic or triple-laminated
The 12 mm pane is monolithic, a single sheet of polycarbonate.
The 20.4 mm pane is triple-laminated: three sheets bonded into one.
Fitting
KM Wins replacement shields should only be mounted using our recommended adhesive, Sikaflex 221, since it's chemically compatible with both the anti-scratch coating and the polycarbonate.
Apply the adhesive to the back of the shield only, so the shield keeps some flexibility. Never mount a shield by applying adhesive to its edges – that makes the shield rigid and risks stress and cracking.
Handle the shield as if it were glass. It must never rest directly against steel, such as the window frame or bolts.
